Hearing Aids
The Taylor Listening Center specializes in providing Hearing Aid Services. We have a thorough process we follow to ensure you’ll love your new hearing aid and succeed with them for years to come. Here is what you can expect.
Hearing Aid Consultation
The first step is a Hearing Aid Consultation. We call this an “information session” to determine hearing aid candidacy. The patient’s lifestyle, expectations, and hearing loss are taken into account prior to recommending the appropriate hearing aid(s). During this consultation, a hearing aid demonstration is performed to allow the patient to experience firsthand what a hearing aid sounds and feels like. If the patient decides to proceed with the selected devices, a hearing aid fitting is scheduled at the patient’s convenience.

Hearing Aid Fitting
The next step is the actual Hearing aid fitting. Hearing aids are digitally programed using the results gathered during the audiological evaluation. Real Ear measurements are taken to determine the actual sound delivered at the level of the ear drum from the hearing aid by inserting a thin microphone in the ear canal. After the patient approves the sound quality and comfort of the aids, information is provided so the patient can care for the aids independently. Battery changing is practiced and cleaning protocols are discussed.
At the conclusion of the session, the patient is taught how to insert and remove the aids and also how to manipulate any controls on the aids. After all questions are answered, the patient is scheduled for a follow-up in two weeks. All patients are given a risk-free 60 day adjustment period. If the patient decides to return the hearing aid during this adjustment period, a full refund will be given.
Follow-Ups – Hearing Aid Check
We recommend a Hearing Aid Check every 3 months in order to insure the aid is working appropriately and also for a thorough cleaning. These checks are at no cost to the patient for the duration of the hearing aid service warranty. A repeat hearing test will be administered at least once a year to check for change in hearing sensitivity. If a change is documented, the hearing aids are adjusted to compensate for the loss.
Follow-Ups – Hearing Aid Troubleshooting
When problems arise with the hearing aids, an appointment can be scheduled within a quick time frame. Most hearing aid related problems can be fixed in the office. If the aid needs to be sent back to the manufacturer, a loaner hearing aid will be provided if requested. Troubleshooting is no cost for patients within their service warranty.
